"Beam Centroid Control with University of Maryland Electron Ring (UMER)"
by
Chao Wu
Advisor: Dr. Eyad Abed and Dr. Patrick O’Shea

Beam based alignment and control is important for accelerators, including the University of Maryland Electron Ring, which is a scaled low energy storage ring. In this talk, we will present a technique for beam centroid control using the measured response matrix and singular value decomposition. We will show that the algorithm is very effective and can serve as a diagnostic tool as well.
