Marc Swisdak is an Associate Research Scientist in the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Colorado in 1999. He did post-doctoral work at IREAP, left to become a Research Physicist at the Naval Research Laboratory, and then returned to IREAP in 2007.
His current research interests include collisionless magnetic reconnection, ionospheric and magnetospheric turbulence as it relates to particle energization, and the formation and stability of bifurcated current sheets.
