Rami Kishek attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, where he received the B.S.E. in electrical engineering (1993), M.S.E. in nuclear engineering (1995), and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering (1997). He joined the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics in 1997. Dr. Kishek is a Senior Member in the IEEE.

Dr. Kishek's research interests revolve on the electrodynamics of swarms of particles interacting through long range forces. Such collective interactions underlie many problems in modern physics, from laboratory plasmas to galactic dynamics. Dr. Kishek in heavily involved in the development of the University of Maryland Electron Ring (UMER) Research Accelerator Facility.
